June 2007

We had a wonderful day at Wydale, learning more about the story of the Prodigal Son, imagining what it would be like to be in the place of the Father, who forgives his son and welcomes him home. Thinking what it would be like to be the Son who was loved, forgiven and welcomed home. We also thought of the times when we behaved like the elder son, who was jealous and complained of the welcome given to his brother. We were joined at lunch by the Bishop of Whitby, Robert Ladds, and finished the day talking with him about the qualities needed to be a good parent. The day ended with a service of Holy Communion. Next year we have booked for Wednesday 9th July. It is good to have a day together with time to learn and relax with each other, with love Linda
